In order for me to make a difference and be important in the lives of others, I had to be that difference to myself and be important to me. I began to take the words of kindness that I would repeat to myself more to heart.
I am beautiful to the eyes of our Father in Heaven and to those who truly love me.
I was created to the fullest of perfection because God makes no mistakes.
When I began to take these words more seriously, I began to see the way people around me were really treating me. No, I wasn’t being treated any differently. When I decided to change the way I thought about myself, the compliments I was being told finally felt real to me. After 10 years of marriage, I could finally feel the, “I love you” that my husband would tell me. I could finally feel the, “I love you” from my brother, my mom and my dad. And most importantly, I could finally feel the love God had for me. I know you’ve heard of the phrase,
“You must love yourself before you can love others.”
When I changed my thoughts from how much I hated myself, to how much love I have for me, I was able to say I love you and truly feel the love for those around me with all my heart and soul. I could feel the connection with those around me. When I changed my thoughts of me to a more positive energy, I unknowingly changed my thoughts about those around me. This in the long run has also changed my life completely. I can now see how much others care for me and love me. So it’s not others changing their thoughts of you, it’s you changing the way you think of yourself that will change your life forever.
