I haven’t been able to travel much in the past due to not having money…. and now because we have 5 kids + no money, hahaha. One of my favorite things to do is to travel. Now, that doesn’t mean that I haven’t had a chance to go to other places outside of Texas. When I was a young child, I remember taking a trip to Mexico every year to see my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Those visits became less frequent after my moms’ father past away. Then, when my husband and I got together, he would get a few days off from work and we would travel to Mexico quite a bit. The more kids we had, the less we traveled.
I’ve also had the chance to travel to North Carolina to visit my best friend. I love that every time I go, My friend and her family have always shown such beautiful and fun places in Charlotte, North Carolina and surrounding areas. On my first trip to Charlotte I had the awesome opportunity to visit the mountains. Something I would highly recommend if you’re planning to visit NC. The air felt so clean compared to the city atmosphere of good ol’ Dallas TX. The fresh waterfalls and that amazing sweet smell of nature…. just…amazing!
During my visit, I also got to go to U.S. National Whitewater Center. Extremely fun place to go if you’re on the adventurous side. My friend and I went mountain biking, rock climbing, zip lining and had an awesome time walking around to different activities that they had.
On my second visit to NC, I got to see the beauty of Uptown Charlotte in the daytime and at night. So many great restaurants like Mellow Mushroom where we tried their THAI DYE pizza, nightclubs & fun activities to do with kids at Romare Bearden Park. I also got to take an awesome trip to Charleston, SC. I love that even though it’s a few hours’ drive, you get to visit many places from Charlotte NC to Charleston SC if you make the time to explore.
Oh and how can I forget about Amelie’s French Bakery. Their pastries and food IS AMAZING!!
So here are some fun ideas that you can try while on your visit to North Carolina or even to South Carolina. I would love to hear of your adventures in NC and maybe new ideas that I can try on my next visit to NC. Maybe even new things that I can try from the places that I’ve already been to.
Much Love, Peace & Joy,
